our sunflower husks PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Sunflower husks or hulls as it’s known are the by-product of the dehulling/deshelling of sunflower seeds before they are used for oil extraction.
Sunflower husks are used as an alternative bedding material to the more widely used pine wood shavings in the poultry- and chicken farming industry. They generally do however need to be turned every week or two in order to prevent them from caking and to maintain friable conditions.
Sunflower husks can also be used to provide energy by being burned in boilers, they are also often used in the composting industry in addition for being used as animal bedding or livestock roughage.
Orbit Wood & Shavings supplies sunflower husks either bagged or in bulk form to its clients.
