standard wood SIZE & INFO
OUR standard size wood logs
Dimensions of wood logs (mm): 90 up to 400 (diameter) x 2400 (length) Weight per load The average weight per superlink truck load varies from 24 to 32 tons, depending on the moisture content of the wood logs itself. Our clients usually indicate to us whether they need fresh cut wood with a higher moisture content or wood that has been cut a while back and has a much less moisture content and would be classified as dry-wood. Volume per load The average volume per superlink truck load varies from 68 to 72 cubes. Volume is the industry standard measurement when supplying wood logs and is expressed in cubes (m³) or cubic meters. This provides for a much more accurate indication of how much wood you really receive. |

Why is wood logs sold in cubes or on a "per cube" basis?
The lower the moisture content of a log, the less it weighs than the same volume of unseasoned logs. So if you buy by weight, be careful to make sure you’re not paying for water rather than for wood!
In order to give peace of mind to both the Buyer and the Seller of the wood logs and get to the exact amount of wood logs being sent and received, wood logs are supplied on a per cube basis. This easily eliminates the issue of paying for more- or less "water".
